About the role
The Work‑Study Reading Tutor supports early elementary students through targeted reading intervention and mentorship. Employed by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the tutor works three to five days a week at selected elementary schools, providing individualized instruction using the “Really Great Reading” curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Complete onboarding and training sessions.
- Conduct 30‑minute one‑on‑one tutoring sessions for 4‑6 students.
- Schedule make‑up sessions to accommodate student absences.
- Log attendance and maintain detailed session notes.
- Administer reading assessments and track student progress.
Required profile
- Current enrollment at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
- Experience working with children.
- Preferred experience teaching reading.
