Workshop Planner

About the role

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Workshop Planner to join its onsite team in Elko, NV. The role focuses on coordinating manpower, materials, and schedules to ensure workshop deliveries meet customer commitments while supporting the company’s commitment to automation, digitalization, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate workshop manpower and material requirements to meet delivery commitments.
• Develop, audit, and maintain Standard Job Plans (SJPs).
• Prepare rebuild schedules, Gantt charts, and communicate plans to internal service teams.
• Ensure effective use of building, tooling, and personnel resources based on availability.
• Generate parts lists for equipment jobs and place purchase orders for major components and external services.
• Create and manage change orders as scopes of work evolve.
• Track all workshop jobs, organize outgoing shipments, and prepare reports for weekly production meetings.
• Facilitate project debriefs to gather feedback and improve SJPs and BOMs.
• Participate in all workshop safety meetings and comply with SMC safety policies and relevant regulations.
• Identify and report unsafe work habits, send weekly progress reports, and coordinate weekly planning meetings.
• Prepare backorder reviews, weekly hours reports per job, and update work plans to project efficiency and utilization.
