Workforce Development Specialist

About the role

Career Team is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist (ES) to deliver employer services under the Wagner‑Peyser Act. You will act as a bridge between local businesses and job seekers, helping to match talent with in‑demand opportunities across North Central Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional relationships with local businesses and organizations through consistent outreach.
• Assist employers with WorkInTexas.com registration, post job orders, and recruit, screen, and refer qualified candidates.
• Plan and execute both in‑person and virtual recruiting and hiring events for diverse industries.
• Deliver presentations on employment opportunities and labor‑market information to employers and program participants.
• Refer employers to the Business Services Unit to negotiate on‑the‑job training, subsidized work experience, and transitional job agreements.
• Conduct employer follow‑up to assess service quality and referral outcomes.
• Inform farmworkers about employment terms and clearance orders.
• Collaborate with Center Manager and staff to match job seekers with work‑based learning opportunities.
• Refer job seekers to workshops, orientations, financial literacy services, and community resources.
• Provide career planning and advisement to support placement, advancement, and retention.
• Document services and case notes in WorkInTexas.com to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with employers and community partners.
• Experience conducting outreach, organizing events, and delivering presentations.
• Ability to assess employer needs and match them with appropriate job‑seeker resources.
• Familiarity with workforce development programs and compliance requirements.
• Detail‑oriented with accurate record‑keeping and reporting abilities.
