Workday HCM Analyst – Core HCM & Security

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a highly motivated, detail‑oriented Workday HCM Analyst to join its HRIS team in Santa Clara. In this individual‑contributor position you will configure, maintain, and enhance Workday Core HCM and Security solutions to streamline HR processes and support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for Workday Core HCM and Security, leading design, configuration, and testing of end‑to‑end system solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, technology‑driven outcomes while ensuring data integrity.
• Manage intake, scoping, and sizing of enhancement requests through JIRA and oversee successful execution of approved changes.
• Evaluate out‑of‑the‑box functionality against requirements and recommend optimal solutions.
• Analyze and test new Workday features, own unit, regression, pre‑launch testing and sign‑off.
• Continuously identify and recommend improvements to processes, technology, and data quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in MIS, IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience as a Workday functional expert in Core HCM and Security.
• Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Self‑starter who can manage competing priorities in a high‑demand environment.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous directives and deliver sound solutions.
