About the role
This work‑study position supports the Recruitment & School Relations department by providing guidance and mentoring to community and transfer students at Laredo College. It is a student‑focused role that combines clerical duties with direct interaction with prospective students and their families.
Key responsibilities
- Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students.
- Assist with day‑to‑day departmental maintenance, including filing, scheduling, and phone coverage.
- Provide presentations and one‑on‑one assistance to transfer students and parents.
- Support recruitment events on‑ and off‑campus.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours for undergraduates, 3 for graduates).
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
- Current, complete file with the Office of Financial Aid and a FAFSA demonstrating financial need.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an alien registration number.
- Comply with Texas A&M International University’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
Required skills
- Proficiency with a personal computer workstation and common software applications.
What we offer
- Hourly wage of $10.00.
- Up to 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling around classes.
- Experience in recruitment, community outreach, and administrative support.
