About the role
Zeno Power is seeking a highly motivated Work Control Specialist to lead radiological and non‑radiological work control processes at its Bay Area facility. Reporting to the Radiological Facility Manager, you will ensure safe, compliant execution of work packages that support the development of Radioisotope Power Systems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and document radiological and non‑radiological work control procedures.
- Create and shepherd work packages, including subcontracted work, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate radiological safety planning for routine and non‑routine tasks.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations teams to embed proper controls.
- Lead weekly and daily planning meetings to direct radiological work.
- Serve as primary interface for internal project managers and support audits, self‑assessments, and regulatory inspections.
Required profile
- B.S. in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in radiological work control, nuclear operations, or a highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to write and review permits, procedures, and work plans.
- Strong understanding of radiation protection principles (including ALARA) and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment.
