Women's Health Coordinator

About the role

The Comprehensive Perinatal Health Worker (CPHW) supports women and newborns by delivering education and one‑on‑one counseling through AltaMed’s Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program. This position bridges multiple services to ensure patients receive seamless, accessible care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide perinatal and newborn education and individualized counseling.
• Coordinate referrals and create a smooth interface among program services.
• Represent the clinic in all matters related to perinatal service delivery.
• Collaborate with the Clinic Director, Women’s Health Director, medical providers, and nursing staff to develop and implement program goals.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• Minimum one year of OB/GYN experience.
• Experience with patient referrals and venipuncture.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Preferred: Family Planning Health Worker certification and bilingual English/Spanish ability.

Required skills

• Venipuncture.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Spanish language proficiency (preferred).
