Wireless Systems Research Engineer (Level III/IV/Senior I)

About the role

The Texas A&M University System Offices are seeking a Wireless Systems Research Engineer to join the Center for Applied Communications and Networks in Bryan, Texas. The role involves conducting basic and applied research on next‑generation wireless networks, designing innovative solutions, and supporting university‑wide research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate technical approaches for wireless research proposals.
• Design, implement, and test network architectures and security measures for research environments.
• Collaborate with researchers, system administrators, contractors, and vendors to define specifications and standards.
• Document network designs, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on wireless networking projects.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in wireless network research and development.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to produce technical documentation.
• Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
