Wireless Research Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Wireless Research Scientist to join Bosch’s Wireless Sensor and Embedded Systems group in Sunnyvale. You will drive applied research on next‑generation communication and sensing systems, creating intelligent wireless solutions that combine advanced signal processing with AI/ML.

Key responsibilities

• Lead applied research in next‑generation wireless communication and sensing.
• Design and develop intelligent wireless solutions focusing on signal processing and AI/ML.
• Implement software prototypes to demonstrate proof‑of‑concept concepts.
• Perform performance analysis, feasibility studies, simulations and experimental evaluations.
• Monitor state‑of‑the‑art developments in academia, industry and standards (e.g., ZigBee, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, UWB).
• Present findings to management and internal stakeholders.
• Translate innovative ideas from scouting phase to project execution.
• Publish research results as patents, conference papers or journal articles.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in wireless communication, signal processing and machine learning.
• Experience with wireless sensing techniques such as RSSI, Time‑of‑Flight, CSI and CIR.
• Familiarity with wireless standards (IEEE 802.11x, IEEE 802.15.4, BLE).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a diverse, international environment.
