Windows Systems Administrator

About the role

Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a mid‑level Windows Systems Administrator to manage and support its on‑premises Windows infrastructure. Based on‑site in North Logan, UT, you will join a small IT team responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical enterprise services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer core Microsoft services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and file services.
• Configure and maintain Windows file shares, permissions, and storage resources.
• Support virtual infrastructure, managing VMs, templates, and resource allocation.
• Manage NAS/SAN storage systems, backups, and monitor capacity and health.
• Perform Windows patch management and coordinate scheduled maintenance.
• Monitor server, application, and user issues, providing timely resolution.
• Create and update technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.
• Provide after‑hours and on‑call support for outages or maintenance events.
• Assist with security hardening, compliance, and configuration management.
• Research, test, and implement solutions for undocumented issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of Windows Server administration experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot Windows infrastructure, enterprise applications, and end‑user issues.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and virtualization platforms such as VMware.
• Strong understanding of Windows security best practices and system hardening.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating across teams.
