Wind Farm Technician Associate

About the role

The Wind Farm Technician Associate supports the safe operation and maintenance of one or more wind farms, ensuring high availability of equipment while adhering to RWE's safety and performance standards. This full‑time, permanent position involves hands‑on work, troubleshooting, and collaboration with the O&M team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on wind turbines and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Assist with acceptance and performance testing after planned outages.
• Maintain plant tools, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring readiness and accountability.
• Provide technical guidance to the O&M team and track service activities in the digital maintenance management system.
• Support substation and collection system maintenance as needed.
• Participate in safety exercises, backup other RWE sites, and uphold company values.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required) or associate degree in a scientific/technical field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of operations or maintenance experience in power generation, with at least 1 year on wind turbines (Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex preferred).
• Current unrestricted driver’s license and willingness to relocate within one hour of the site.
• Ability to follow standard work instructions, perform basic rigging and signaling, and work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Hand and power tool usage.
• Basic rigging and signaling.
• Wind turbine maintenance (experience with Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex).
• Digital maintenance management system operation.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
• PC/Laptop proficiency for document creation and data entry.
