Welding Laboratory Assistant (Part‑Time)

About the role

Join Georgia Northwestern Technical College as a part‑time Welding Laboratory Assistant. Working primarily on the Walker County Campus, you will support welding and joining instruction by preparing the lab, managing supplies, and assisting students under instructor supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure welding lab equipment is secure, functional, and ready for each class.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and notify instructors when re‑stocking is needed.
• Distribute materials to students during instruction and keep the lab environment clean and safe.
• Provide hands‑on assistance to students as directed by the instructor.
• Travel to other campuses as required to meet operational needs.

Required profile

• Former or currently enrolled welding/joining student at GNTC, or paid welding experience within the past seven years.
• Knowledge of welding and joining shop equipment and supplies.
• Ability to work well with students and follow instructor guidance.
• Cannot be simultaneously enrolled in the welding course you are assisting.
