Welding Lab Assistant (Part‑Time)

About the role

The Georgia Northwestern Technical College seeks a part‑time Welding Lab Assistant to support instruction on the Whitfield Murray Campus and other campuses as needed. This on‑site role involves preparing the lab, assisting students, and maintaining a safe learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that welding and joining equipment is secure and operational before each class.
• Inventory lab supplies, notify instructors of shortages, and distribute materials to students during instruction.
• Maintain a clean and orderly lab to ensure safety compliance.
• Assist students with equipment use and answer technical questions as directed by the instructor.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Dean of Industrial Technologies.

Required profile

• Former or currently enrolled welding and joining student at GNTC, or paid welding experience within the past seven years.
• Knowledge of welding and joining shop equipment and supplies.
• Ability to work well with other students and follow safety protocols.
• Cannot be concurrently enrolled in the welding instruction course while serving as lab assistant.
