About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a qualified Welding Instructor to teach and supervise students in Welding and Joining Technology. This position involves developing curriculum, evaluating student progress, and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Instruct and supervise students in welding and joining techniques.
- Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
- Prepare lesson plans for credited technical/occupational courses.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain documentation.
- Request and manage supplies, equipment, and budget needs.
- Maintain program certification requirements and safety standards.
- Collaborate with staff on recruitment, retention, and job placement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Current welding certification or professional credential.
- Minimum three years of welding/joining work experience.
- Associate’s degree in Welding and Joining Technology or related field (preferred).
- Five years of welding/joining experience with instructional competency (preferred).
- Basic computer skills and ability to use job‑related software.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
