Welding Faculty (Non‑Tenure)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Welding Faculty member to join the Business Trade and Industrial Department at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope – Texarkana. This non‑tenure faculty position involves delivering both classroom instruction and hands‑on laboratory training to students pursuing careers in welding and related technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and teach courses covering welding theory, techniques, and safety.
• Conduct laboratory sessions, demonstrating and supervising welding processes.
• Assess student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Maintain equipment, ensure compliance with safety standards, and manage workshop resources.
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental meetings.

Required profile

• Three to five years of professional experience in the welding industry.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in both classroom and laboratory settings.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
• Proficiency in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG).
• Proficiency in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG).
• Experience with oxy‑fuel cutting and plasma cutting.
• Blueprint reading and fabrication knowledge.
• Understanding of welding safety practices.
