About the role

The State of Georgia, through West Georgia Technical College, seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Welding and Joining Technology across multiple campuses. This part‑time, semester‑based position pays $27 per contact hour and offers the chance to shape future welders in a hands‑on classroom and lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver theory and practical instruction in welding and joining according to state academic standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends and incorporate them into coursework.
• Teach in classroom, lab, face‑to‑face, blended or on‑campus formats as required.
• Prepare standardized syllabi, assess student progress, and grade assignments promptly.
• Utilize classroom technology and ensure program certification requirements are met.
• Participate in professional development and collaborate with students and staff.

Required profile

• Diploma in Welding and Joining Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of welding and joining experience.
• Ability to pass a welding test (some locations require an additional pipe welding test).
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills
