Web Developer

About the role

Tempest is seeking a passionate Web Developer to join its Philadelphia‑based team. You will collaborate with support, delivery, and account services to enhance and build website features for tourism destinations across North America.

Key responsibilities

• Update and add new features to Craft CMS websites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on client sites.
• Integrate third‑party tools, APIs, and services (CRM, search, reservations, events).
• Develop new websites and improve performance.
• Provide scope and hour estimates for client requests.
• Communicate status to the Web Development Director and team.
• Document work clearly and maintain front‑end visual enhancements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of web development experience, with 2‑3 years in an agency environment preferred.
• Professional communication style in email, virtual meetings, and in‑person.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

Required skills

• Craft CMS or similar platforms (WordPress, Drupal, ExpressionEngine).
• HTML5 semantic markup.
• CSS preprocessors such as SASS.
• Version control with Git and workflow tools (Vite, CLI).
• JavaScript (vanilla, ES6), Vue.js, Alpine.js, TypeScript.
• Accessibility best practices and ADA compliance.
• Experience with AI‑powered coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
• Consuming RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Adobe Creative Suite and vector graphics.
