Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator

About the role
Veolia is seeking a dedicated Operator to run water and wastewater treatment processes. The role involves monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment to ensure water quality meets regulatory and operational standards.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor operating conditions, meters, gauges and record data.
- Collect and test water and sewage samples.
- Operate and adjust equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, generators, mixers, and chemical feed systems.
- Clean and maintain tanks, filter beds, and related work areas.
- Inspect equipment regularly and perform routine maintenance.
- Follow EPA regulations and safety standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a scientific or technical field preferred.
- 2‑5 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment environments.
- Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and drive a company vehicle.
Required skills
- Operation of pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers.
- Use of chemical feed, odor control, disinfection, sludge processing filters, belt presses.
- Proficiency with measurement and control devices and testing equipment.
- Proper use of site‑specific personal protective equipment (PPE).
