About the role
The Water Treatment Operator works under the Director of Public Works to operate and maintain the Tribe’s water distribution and treatment systems, ensuring safe and reliable water service for the community.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor plant performance and operation via the SCADA interface.
- Conduct water quality monitoring, sampling, and record daily lab data.
- Maintain a clean, organized control room and plant, and complete shift logs.
- Troubleshoot process issues, equipment problems, and assist with repairs.
- Follow safety policies, wear required PPE, and adhere to lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of operational experience in a water‑treatment facility.
- CA State Water Resources Control Board Water Treatment Operator (T1) and (D1) certifications.
- Valid California driver’s license.
Required skills
- SCADA system operation.
- Water quality monitoring and sampling.
- Knowledge of water‑treatment processes and equipment.
