Water Restoration Technician

About the role

ServiceMaster Restore is looking for a full-time Water Restoration Technician in Riverside. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some weekends and on-call night shifts. The technician performs inspections and carries out the work needed to complete demolition, drying and other restoration activities, and prepares documentation so that insurance companies can reimburse the claim.

Key responsibilities

• Load the right equipment and supplies on the truck for each job and respond quickly to emergency water or fire damage claims.
• Complete assigned inspections according to company process and perform water mitigation: water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal and disposal of non-salvageable materials, and light construction and demolition as directed by the supervisor.
• Set up and operate equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers and air scrubbers, and perform daily monitoring of assigned jobs.
• Carry out field restoration work including demolition (drywall, insulation, carpet and pad), cleaning, emergency flood service, restorative drying, fire and smoke damage cleaning and deodorization, content cleaning, pack-out and storage.
• Inspect completed jobs, obtain customer signatures and use company software to update job information and document work with photos.
• Keep customers and supervisors informed of issues and daily activities, and prepare documentation and photos for insurance reimbursement.

Required profile

• High school education or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Water damage experience.
• Experience in the restoration or construction industry.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs; IICRC certification in water damage restoration preferred but not required; bilingualism preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Experience using mobile software to enter data.
• Dependable, team-oriented, problem-solving and strategic thinking.
