Wastewater Regeneration Process Engineer

About the role

Join 3M’s innovative team as a Wastewater Regeneration Process Engineer, collaborating with experts worldwide to ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and productivity while reducing environmental impact.

Key responsibilities

• Provide process engineering oversight for regenerable ion exchange operations, including ion exchange vessels, distillation column, hot‑oil heater, high‑pressure reverse osmosis unit, and thin‑film evaporator.
• Optimize treatment effectiveness using operational data, conduct process modeling, data analysis, and technical evaluations.
• Develop and maintain standard work and process control procedures for all process units.
• Lead investigation teams, perform root‑cause analyses, and collaborate with the EHS Laboratory on PFAS analytical data.
• Offer engineering support to Operations, troubleshoot equipment issues, and recommend corrective actions, including after‑hours support.
• Participate in project planning, suggest process improvements, and help implement changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Environmental or Chemical Engineering preferred).
• Experience with wastewater and water‑treatment processes and chemical process units.
• Previous environmental experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and SharePoint.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
