Warehouse Worker – Material Handling – 1st Shift

About the role

Alfa Laval is adding a 1st‑shift Warehouse Worker to its Richmond manufacturing facility. The role supports material flow, ensures safety compliance, and contributes to continuous improvement in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Pick and deliver materials to workstations or locations efficiently.
• Address internal department requests promptly to keep workflow continuous.
• Use required Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, steel‑toe shoes, gloves, uniform).
• Receive daily assignments from the Team Leader and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist the Team Lead with administrative and operational tasks, including reporting deviations on Digital Status Boards.
• Participate in Daily Status Board meetings, explain deviations and propose solutions.
• Cross‑train in multiple pick units to provide flexible support.
• Identify waste‑elimination opportunities and drive continuous improvements.
• Engage in daily and weekly 5S routines to maintain high standards.
• Operate forklifts and manlifts safely after certification, including work at varying heights.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of material‑handling experience.
• Basic desktop computer and math skills, including reading a tape measure.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred; forklift certification and overhead crane experience are a plus.
• Physical ability to stand or walk 80 % of the shift, lift up to 60 lb, and wear required PPE.
