Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates and executes warehouse operations and procedures so that all product, supply and equipment needs are met throughout the venue. Working under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the role supports the planning and preparation for events by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities to warehouse staff, while keeping the highest standards of safety, organization and sanitation in all storage areas.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure control procedures are used for cataloging, inventory control, bulk storage and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate warehousing activities with the management team.
• Receive and distribute supplies and equipment in large centralized warehousing operations.
• Use storage systems and policies to maximize the use and efficiency of space.
• Submit reports on damaged goods, outdated stock, over and under shipments and returns to vendors.
• Contact vendors to reconcile invoices, shortages and over shipments, or arrange emergency shipments and requisitions.
• Follow and encourage the team to follow safety policies, report unsafe conditions, complete safety training and report injuries and illnesses in the company's risk management system.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• High school degree.
• Two years' experience receiving, storing or distributing food and beverage, supplies or equipment, including at least 1 year at a supervisory level in an entertainment or convention center venue.
• Ability to work in a team and to understand and communicate in English.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work such as pushing, pulling, loading, bending and crouching in coolers, freezers and crowded areas.
• Willingness to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays such as Christmas, MLK weekend and St Patrick's Day.
