VP, Strategy & Market Development - LAC

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Vice President to lead Strategy & Market Development for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The role drives regional strategy, operational excellence, and business performance while aligning with global priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the regional strategy in line with Mastercard’s global objectives.
• Ensure operational excellence through governance, performance management, and process optimization.
• Coordinate across North LAC, South LAC, and Brazil to maintain regional alignment and execution.
• Influence executive stakeholders and lead cross‑functional initiatives that foster growth and innovation.
• Oversee M&A strategy, integration activities, talent planning, and change management.
• Lead the regional business risk agenda, identifying and mitigating operational, financial, compliance, and organizational risks.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with senior regional leaders, including the LAC President, to shape and drive overall regional strategy.

Required profile

• Proven strategic leadership experience at senior executive level.
• Strong executive influence and ability to drive cross‑functional initiatives.
• Demonstrated expertise in operational excellence, business transformation, and risk management.
• Experience leading M&A integration and talent planning in a complex, multi‑country environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
