VP of Projects

About the role

CandidIntelligence is building an AI‑driven execution layer for behind‑the‑meter gas‑fired power projects. As Vice President of Projects you will lead the company’s engineering practice, working directly with senior CEOs and Fortune‑500 engineering heads to deliver FEED and FEL‑2 packages for projects ranging from 200 MW to multi‑GW.

Key responsibilities

• Define and oversee the engineering delivery model for BTM gas‑fired power projects across Texas and the Gulf Coast.
• Act as the senior engineering counterpart to client CEOs, heads of engineering and VPs of Projects.
• Validate and defend Class 4 cost estimates with lenders, investors and incumbent EPC firms.
• Recruit, build and mentor a team of project directors, senior PEs and multi‑discipline leads.
• Integrate feedback from field work into the FlowState platform roadmap.

Required profile

• 20 + years of experience in power‑generation engineering, with hands‑on FEED or EPC leadership on at least two gas plants ($200 M+ capex).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or multi‑state).
• Background at a major EPC (e.g., Bechtel, Worley) or an owner‑operator (e.g., Vistra, Duke).
• Proven ability to manage ten or more disciplines through HAZID, IDC, IFR and IFI cycles.
• Experience with BTM, islanded or co‑located generation and micro‑grid architecture.
