VP Finance / Controller – Family Office / Fund

About the role

We are seeking a Vice President of Finance / Controller to join a fast‑growing finance team within a premier alternative investment management firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial accounting, reporting, investor communications, tax compliance, and operational oversight for multiple fund entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual workpapers and financial statement packages.
• Develop cash forecasts, manage expense budgets, and oversee month‑end close processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee monthly accounting accruals, expense tracking, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review shadow books, investor allocations, and fund administrator reports.
• Participate in budget and forecast development and support quarterly deliverables for the CFO.
• Manage fund cash balances, journal entries, and capital‑call/distribution tracking.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning, or analysis.
• College degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Prior experience in hedge funds, master‑feeder structures, or multi‑strategy funds is a plus.
• Strong communication, judgment, and independent decision‑making abilities.
