Volunteer Resource Coordinator – Claxton RYDC

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Volunteer Resource Coordinator for the Claxton Residential Youth Development Center (RYDC). Working under supervision, you will support research, policy development, and the administration of social services programs that benefit youth and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the agency at conferences, seminars, and public presentations.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, agency partners, and community groups.
• Recruit, train, monitor, and retain volunteers for outreach projects.
• Plan and coordinate meetings, special events, and volunteer activities.
• Respond to public inquiries and direct questions to appropriate staff.
• Evaluate resource needs, manage donations, and oversee volunteer applications and background checks.
• Maintain a monthly calendar of volunteer events and serve on the advisory council.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred.
• At least one year of experience in volunteer services, community outreach, or youth event planning.
