VMI Delivery Driver (Non‑CDL)

About the role

The VMI Delivery Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering merchandise for United Central Industrial Supply, representing the company in a professional manner. This non‑CDL position involves operating company vehicles safely, handling loads, and ensuring timely deliveries across the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Operate company delivery vehicles safely and maintain their appearance.
• Load and unload merchandise, using equipment such as forklifts, knuckle‑boom cranes, dollies, chains, and straps.
• Obtain signatures or payments upon delivery and follow scheduled routes to meet delivery times.
• Report accidents, vehicle maintenance needs, and any shortages, overages, or damaged goods to supervisors.
• Maintain housekeeping in the warehouse and assist with stock transfers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of driving experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a company‑administered driving test and understand DOT regulations.
• Strong reading and writing skills for delivery tickets, invoices, and safety documentation.

Required skills

• Operation of a Ford F550 truck.
• Knuckle‑boom crane operation.
• Forklift operation.
• Use of load‑securing equipment such as dollies, chains, straps, and covers.
