About the role
The Georgia Department of Economic Development is seeking a Visitor Center Supervisor to lead the Columbus Visitor Information Center. This role oversees daily operations, staff, and visitor services, contributing to Georgia’s tourism promotion.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Columbus Visitor Information Center.
- Supervise full‑time and part‑time staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Deliver high‑quality customer service to over 13 million annual visitors.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications teams to promote Georgia’s destinations.
- Maintain the center’s displays, branding, and overall appearance.
- Develop and implement special projects, promotions, and group initiatives.
- Handle administrative duties such as budget management, traffic reporting, and coordination with state agencies.
- Represent GDEcD at meetings and presentations as needed.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least five years of experience in a lead, team‑leader, or supervisory role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and administrative tasks.
