About the role
Tarleton State University seeks a Visiting Instructor in Physics for a nine‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment. The position is based primarily on the main campus in Stephenville, Texas, with the possibility of teaching at other campuses or online, depending on institutional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate physics courses, both in‑person and via approved online modalities.
- Prepare lecture materials, labs, assignments, and assessments aligned with department standards.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and service activities.
- Maintain campus safety responsibilities as assigned.
Required profile
- Earned graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate physics effectively.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student success.
- Flexibility to teach at multiple campus locations or through online platforms.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of undergraduate physics concepts and curricula.
- Experience designing and delivering laboratory and lecture instruction.
- Ability to use learning management systems and classroom technology.
