About the role
Tarleton State University seeks a Visiting Instructor to teach courses in Government, Legal Studies, and Philosophy. This 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment offers the chance to engage with a vibrant student body on the main campus in Stephenville, Texas, and potentially online.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in Government and related subjects.
- Prepare syllabi, lecture materials, and assessments aligned with departmental standards.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and faculty development activities.
- Contribute to the university’s mission through service, research, or community outreach as needed.
Required profile
- Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Government, Political Science, Public Policy, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the undergraduate level.
- Ability to teach both on‑campus and online courses.
