Virtual Registered Nurse – Centralized Nursing Services

About the role

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is launching an onsite Virtual Nursing Program. As a Virtual Registered Nurse you will work from a centralized “bunker” within the hospital, providing remote nursing support to bedside teams via secure audio/video communication.

Key responsibilities

• Complete admission history and documentation, including medication reconciliation.
• Assist with discharge education and documentation.
• Support patient and family education and coordinate care with bedside nurses.
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, pharmacy, and bedside nursing teams.
• Escalate patient concerns or changes in condition to bedside staff immediately.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance during all virtual interactions.
• Document accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
• Utilize virtual nursing equipment and software, operating multiple monitors, cameras, headsets, and communication platforms.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate concerns appropriately.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in South Carolina.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience (preferred).
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient computer and EMR skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous telehealth or virtual nursing experience (preferred).

• Basic troubleshooting of virtual nursing equipment.
