Virtual Medical Assistant

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant to support front desk operations for U.S. healthcare practices. This role requires prior experience supporting patients and providers remotely, using EMR systems, and managing day‑to‑day medical administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Answer patient calls, handle inquiries, and route messages to the appropriate staff.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Complete patient registration and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and assist with referrals and follow‑ups.
• Update patient records in the practice’s EMR system.
• Coordinate with providers and office staff to keep requests moving.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and practice procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience working as a Virtual Medical Assistant with U.S. healthcare practices.
• Hands‑on experience using electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and medical front‑desk workflows.
• Strong spoken and written English with a professional, patient‑focused phone manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and work independently.
• Reliable internet access and a quiet, private workspace.
