Virtual K‑5th Grade Teacher

About the role

The Virtual Preparatory Academy of Ohio is seeking a dedicated Virtual K‑5th Grade Teacher to deliver high‑quality instruction to elementary students in an online environment. This position combines live web‑based lessons with asynchronous coursework, fostering both academic achievement and social‑emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor for assigned classes.
• Deliver live lessons via web‑conference platforms, adapting instruction to student needs.
• Set up and manage courses within the Learning Management System.
• Monitor student progress, grade assignments daily, and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with the Principal to produce progress reports and adjust instructional strategies based on data.
• Integrate culturally responsive practices and 21st‑century technology into daily lessons.
• Participate in in‑person events such as state testing, field trips, and school activities.

Required profile

• Current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of Ohio State Standards and Common Core.
• Preferred two years of teaching experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using a Learning Management System for course delivery.
