Vice President Supply Chain

About the role

The client, a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer, seeks a Vice President of Supply Chain to shape enterprise‑wide strategy across a multi‑site operation. Reporting to the COO, the executive will balance high‑level leadership with hands‑on execution to drive measurable improvements in procurement, logistics, and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute end‑to‑end supply chain strategy, covering procurement, materials management, and logistics.
• Lead cost‑reduction initiatives and operational‑excellence programs to achieve year‑over‑year savings.
• Implement best practices in SIOP, inventory optimization, sourcing, and production planning.
• Negotiate with suppliers and drive strategic sourcing to enhance value and performance.
• Standardize SOPs across business units and establish KPIs with data‑driven dashboards.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including vendor consolidation.
• Partner with cross‑functional leaders to align supply chain plans with growth objectives.
• Act as a change agent within a matrixed organization, influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of leadership experience in global supply chain operations.
• Strong background in aerospace, defense or complex manufacturing (OEM & MRO preferred).
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and cost optimization.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
• APICS or similar certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated success in fast‑paced, matrixed environments.
