About the role
The Vice President of Operations (VPO) provides strategic direction and operational oversight for key support functions at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Reporting to the President and serving on the executive leadership team, the VPO ensures that facilities, safety, and marketing initiatives align with the college’s mission and strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Build and sustain high‑performing teams through clear expectations, performance evaluation, and leadership development.
- Develop collaborative relationships across departments, campuses, and community partners.
- Partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and government agencies to advance capital construction and campus development projects.
- Conduct on‑site reviews to verify compliance with policies, procedures, safety regulations, and employment standards.
- Coordinate the creation and implementation of the facilities master plan and the college master plan.
- Establish internal control structures and oversee design, construction, engineering, repair, and maintenance projects.
- Enforce contract provisions, resolve budgetary and scheduling issues, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Guide marketing and public‑relations efforts to support enrollment growth, community engagement, and workforce partnerships.
- Prioritize safety and security for students, employees, and visitors across all operational units.
Required profile
- Senior executive leader with proven experience in operational management within an educational institution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, manage large‑scale projects, and oversee capital construction initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Willingness to work on‑site, travel among multiple campuses, and operate without a telework option.
- Accountability for aligning operational decisions with the college’s mission and strategic goals.
