About the role
Our client, a fast‑growing Series A beauty and consumer‑goods brand based in the Los Angeles area, is hiring its first Vice President of Finance. Reporting directly to the CEO and the investor group, the VP will lead FP&A, strategic finance and business intelligence, and will evolve into the CFO as the company scales. Day‑to‑day accounting is outsourced, allowing the role to focus on forward‑looking financial strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Own all FP&A functions including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, cash‑flow modeling and variance analysis with actionable insights.
- Serve as the primary financial business partner to the CEO, translating data into strategic decisions on growth, profitability and capital allocation.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reporting packages, board decks and investor updates.
- Manage ABL relationship and bank compliance reporting, including covenant tracking and lender communications.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, channel expansion, wholesale initiatives and strategic investments.
- Develop KPI frameworks and financial dashboards for real‑time visibility across DTC and wholesale channels.
- Oversee data integrity of financial reporting systems, including SaaS tools and internal databases.
- Partner with the external accounting team on month‑end close review, audit preparation and tax compliance.
- Establish financial processes, reporting infrastructure and SOPs to support a scaling organization.
- Prepare quarterly board and investor packages and lead special finance projects as required.
- Oversee payroll review, insurance, contracts and key administrative financial functions in partnership with external support.
Required profile
- 12‑15 years of progressive finance experience with a strong FP&A and strategic finance focus.
- CPA certification required; Big 4 or public accounting background strongly preferred.
- Industry experience in consumer packaged goods, beauty, wellness or retail DTC highly preferred.
- Proven ability to build financial planning infrastructure from the ground up in a high‑growth environment.
- Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, scenario modeling and board‑level reporting.
- Experience managing or supporting an ABL facility and lender relationships.
