About the role

Echo Communications Advisors seeks a Vice President to lead strategic communications for clean‑energy, climate and conservation clients. Based in Washington, D.C., the role reports directly to the President and serves as a trusted advisor on high‑stakes policy moments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that translate complex federal, congressional and state policy dynamics into clear narratives.
• Drive earned‑media initiatives, shape public discourse, and influence decision‑making environments.
• Serve as the primary strategic counselor to clients, anticipating political and media risks and providing timely guidance.
• Mentor and grow a team of communications professionals, fostering expertise in public‑affairs messaging.
• Identify and pursue business‑development opportunities to expand the firm’s client base.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in energy and climate policy, preferably with a background on Capitol Hill, in a federal agency, or in a public‑affairs firm.
• Deep network within the energy policy community and a proven ability to move quickly during critical news cycles or legislative votes.
• Strong understanding of how Washington and state capitals operate and how strategic communications can shape policy outcomes.
