Vice President, Cyber & Information Security Risk – Digital Assets

About the role

Morgan Stanley is looking for a Vice President to lead the Cyber, Technology and Information Security (CTIS) Risk Coverage team focused on digital assets. You will provide independent oversight of risk across the firm’s crypto trading platforms, custody solutions and distributed‑ledger infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Drive independent reviews of digital‑asset risk exposures across custody, trading, blockchain infrastructure and tokenized‑asset platforms.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise on private‑key management, wallet security, smart‑contract vulnerabilities, blockchain resilience, third‑party dependencies and transaction‑monitoring risks.
• Identify and escalate material control gaps to senior management and governance forums.
• Improve risk visibility through metrics, reporting and scenario analysis.
• Influence remediation priorities and risk‑acceptance decisions with business and technology leaders.
• Support regulatory meetings, respond to queries and ensure compliance with CTIS obligations.
• Build trusted relationships with cyber‑security teams, 2nd‑line risk colleagues and technology stakeholders.
• Coach and train resources within the NFR CTIS team.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Cyber or Information Security (preferred but not mandatory).
• 5+ years of technology or security‑risk experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong understanding of blockchain, crypto trading, wallet infrastructure, asset tokenisation, custody and digital identity.
