Vice President, Controller

About the role

Travere Therapeutics is seeking a Vice President, Controller to lead its global accounting function. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the VP will act as a strategic advisor to the CFO, executive team and Board on all accounting, reporting and controllership matters. This senior finance leader will shape the accounting organization to support the company’s growth in rare‑disease therapeutics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the accounting organization, including general ledger, monthly/quarterly close, technical accounting, SEC reporting, inventory and cost of goods accounting.
• Oversee global consolidations and ensure accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Maintain compliance with SEC regulations, Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal control standards.
• Drive continuous process improvement, operational efficiency and automation of financial systems.
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, business development and finance transformation projects.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in public‑company accounting and financial reporting, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Proven leadership of large, global accounting teams.
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to influence senior executives and the Board.
• Demonstrated track record of building scalable accounting processes and controls.
