Vascular Surgeon – Staff Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a board‑certified Vascular Surgeon to join its clinical staff in New Orleans. The physician will provide comprehensive vascular care, coordinate treatment plans, and uphold Ochsner’s core values of patient‑first service, integrity, compassion, inclusivity, teamwork and excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose vascular conditions, and prescribe appropriate medications and treatment regimens.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document all patient encounters promptly in the Electronic Health Record system.
• Order additional evaluations, make referrals, and ensure accurate coding of all visits.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, credentialing standards, and federal, state and local regulations.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Vascular Surgery; MD or DO with an active medical license.
• Credentialed and willing to maintain an active clinical practice at Ochsner.
• Ability to travel between Ochsner facilities and handle hazardous drug exposure safely.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures.
• Experience handling hazardous drugs and related safety protocols.
