Validation Specialist (Radiation Therapy)

About the role

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, is seeking a Validation Specialist to join its Product Validation team in Palo Alto. You will act as the voice of radiation therapists and medical dosimetrists, ensuring that new oncology devices and software meet safety, effectiveness, and usability standards before release.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure complete validation of Varian products, providing objective test evidence prior to market release.
• Evaluate clinical practices, treatment techniques, and workflow optimizations with Product Management, UX, and Design Engineering.
• Provide continuous feedback to improve design, development, and modification of radiation and oncology systems.
• Support development and maintenance of Oncology Information Systems, Treatment Planning Management Systems, and Treatment Delivery & Imaging Systems.
• Define and execute design validation strategies, including risk‑hazard analysis and traceability to requirements.
• Develop, modify, and run validation plans, test designs, and procedures.
• Participate in requirements analysis, use‑case development, and usability reviews.

Required profile

• Current clinical background in Radiation Oncology (radiation therapist or medical dosimetrist).
• Strong analytical and logical problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to identify workflow bottlenecks, usability issues, and potential hazards.
• Willingness to work on‑site in the Palo Alto region or relocate.
