Utility Technician – 12‑hour rotating shift

About the role

The Utility Technician supports the Performance Materials division by operating and maintaining critical utility systems that enable the production of blended resin foams. This position works on a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule, providing continuous coverage for steam, air, refrigeration, water, and wastewater operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and record data from steam generators, compressed‑air compressors, refrigeration units, water‑filtration plants, and wastewater‑treatment facilities.
• Perform daily and shift inspections, collect and test samples from boilers, cooling towers, filtration systems, and wastewater streams.
• Apply water‑treatment chemicals, conduct lockout/tagout procedures, and clean utility equipment, clarifiers, and filters.
• Support production and maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, temperature and pressure monitoring, and rain‑water system management.
• Maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, and site environmental programs, and provide vacation coverage and overtime as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to work rotating 12‑hour shifts (four days on, four days off) and adapt to day/night changes.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain forklift certification and a South Carolina wastewater certification.
• Commitment to safety culture and adherence to standard operating procedures.
