About the role
As a Utilities Operator at our Fort Collins brewery, you will be the backbone of the operation, keeping critical systems such as steam generation, ammonia refrigeration, CO2 handling, compressed air, water treatment and high‑voltage electricity running smoothly. The role requires real‑time troubleshooting, optimization and decision‑making to keep production moving in a fast‑paced food‑processing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Adhere to brewery safety and environmental standards, including Lock Out Tag Out, work permitting and Process Safety Management.
- Operate and monitor utility systems: steam generation, ammonia refrigeration and dehumidification, CO2 collection and liquefaction, compressed air, water treatment, alcohol distillation and high‑voltage electricity distribution.
- Perform boiler water and evaporative condenser water chemical treatment.
- Conduct basic maintenance, lubrication, housekeeping and sanitation of utility equipment.
- Document shift activities and respond to department requests for utility system optimization or troubleshooting.
- Analyze process data to guide equipment maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED; knowledge of safety policies such as LOTO, PSM, fall protection and confined space.
- Preference for a Stationary Engineer’s License or enrollment in a related program.
- Experience with water‑tube pressure boilers, large‑scale ammonia refrigeration, CO2 collection, compressed‑air systems, distillation columns and high‑voltage electricity distribution.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to work safely and autonomously in a loud, fast‑paced production environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork across diverse skill sets.
