US Tax Analyst

About the role

Cortland is seeking a US Tax Analyst to join its tax function and support compliance, reporting, and operational needs across a multi‑entity real‑estate investment platform. The role works closely with the VP of Tax Compliance and Reporting, offering exposure to partnership taxation, real‑estate investments, and fund structures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing schedules and supporting data for corporate income tax returns, US state and local tax filings, and other compliance requirements.
• Prepare journal entries, perform general ledger analysis, and support reconciliation of tax‑related accounts.
• Identify discrepancies in tax data or processes and escalate issues to senior team members or management.
• Support internal and external tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
• Collect, organize, and review financial data for tax reporting and analysis, ensuring basic tax accuracy.
• Help develop and maintain tax models used for forecasting and management analysis.
• Follow professional standards, maintain accurate records, and assist in creating tax reference materials and training resources.
