About the role

The Upward Bound Tutor position is a temporary, non‑tenure faculty appointment at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, a dynamic mid‑sized public university offering more than 70 academic programs. Based in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the role supports the Upward Bound program by delivering hands‑on academic assistance to participating students and contributes to the university’s mission of providing transformative, hands‑on learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring to Upward Bound participants.
• Assist students in developing study skills and academic confidence.
• Coordinate tutoring sessions in accordance with program schedules.

Required profile

• Current enrollment or employment within the University of Arkansas System.
• Commitment to the mission of Upward Bound and to serving a diverse student population.

• Strong communication and instructional abilities.
