Unit Director – AI Enablement

About the role

The Georgia Technology Authority is seeking a Unit Director to lead AI Enablement across state government. This senior position bridges enterprise AI strategy with execution, driving high‑impact AI solutions that improve operations and citizen services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Georgia’s statewide AI enablement and innovation roadmap.
• Identify emerging AI technologies and high‑impact opportunities for government operations and citizen services.
• Establish strategic priorities for responsible AI experimentation, adoption, and scaling.
• Maintain a portfolio of AI opportunities aligned with enterprise priorities, governance, and responsible AI principles.
• Lead proof‑of‑concept initiatives, pilots, and controlled AI experimentation through the Horizons Innovation Lab.
• Define methodologies that accelerate innovation while managing risk.
• Evaluate pilot outcomes and business value to inform scaling decisions.

Required profile

• Proven ability to serve as the primary bridge between AI strategy and execution.
• Experience leading cross‑functional AI initiatives and collaborating with agencies, universities, startups, and technology partners.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI governance and measurable business outcomes.
