Unarmed Security Guard – Full-Time

About the role

Silver Star Protection Group is seeking an Unarmed Security Guard to provide on‑site protection for client locations in the Des Plaines area. This full‑time position involves maintaining a safe environment, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents as they arise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide security services at assigned client sites, safeguarding personnel, premises, and assets.
• Perform regular patrols and monitor surveillance equipment in accordance with client protocols.
• Document and report incidents, security breaches, or irregularities promptly.
• Adapt to changing shift schedules, locations, and client needs.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, visitors, and staff.
• Execute additional duties assigned by SSPG leadership.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active PERC certification.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de‑escalation abilities.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including on‑call or emergency coverage.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $18.00.
• Weekly pay on Fridays.
• Paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago ordinance (Chicago employees only).
