Unarmed Patrol Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Hilo, Hawaii. The officer serves and safeguards clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, by conducting routine patrols, keeping a visible presence to deter incidents and supporting a welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. The schedule is day shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and solve problems, following healthcare location protocols and reporting requirements.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, give directions and assistance, and report unusual activity to the right people.
• Write clear, accurate incident reports and keep professional communication with healthcare staff, visitors and Allied Universal leadership.

Required profile

• At least one year of security-related experience (pre-employment requirement).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18 or older for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
• Applicants undergo a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
