Tutor for K‑12 Students in San Diego Area

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking enthusiastic educators to provide personalized academic support to K‑12 students in the Del Mar, La Jolla, and Carmel Valley neighborhoods of San Diego. Tutors will work directly with students, families, and teachers to enhance learning outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver academic support aligned with California state curriculum across a range of subjects.
• Create and assign supplemental materials to deepen student understanding.
• Provide remedial and enrichment assistance tailored to individual needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student progress.

Required profile

• Energetic, enthusiastic teachers or subject‑matter experts with proven teaching experience.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and work collaboratively with families.
• Bachelor’s degree plus at least one of: valid California teaching certificate, current student‑teacher status, two+ years private/charter teaching experience, university lecturing experience, or graduate‑level teaching‑assistant experience.
